Should you install this patch?

Install this patch if you are monitoring Cisco MDS or Nexus switches and are getting events generated due to "Unknown" port status.

What does it fix?

Ports that were "Administratively Down" or "Out of Service" were previously reported as having a status of "Unknown". These ports will now report a status of "OK"

How to install the patch?

  1. Copy the following file to the $PATROL_HOME/lib/MS_HW_hdf directory on the server where the PATROL Agent runs:
    • MS_HW_CiscoTelnet.hdf
  2. Re-initialize Hardware Sentry for the patch to take effect.
Nothing needs to be installed on Console systems.
