Setting Automatic Parameters Reset

Home  Previous  Next

Since the manual acknowledgment of each error can rapidly become time consuming, HP EVA KM for PATROL can be configured to automatically acknowledge an alert on the Port Status parameters and reset it to zero after a specified period of time. Also, since an alert is only triggered upon the first breach of a threshold, subsequent issues, that should be notified, may go unnoticed by the SAN administrator. Setting an automatic reset for parameters ensure administrators to be notified upon each threshold's breach.

To automatically reset the Port Status parameters, an operator must manually activate the Automatic Parameters Reset via the console menu:

1.Right-click the HP EVA icon > KM Commands > KM Settings > Automatic Parameters Reset...

KM_Cmd_Automatic_Param_Reset

Automatic Parameters Reset

2.Select the period of time after which you want the KM to automatically reset the Port Status parameters and click OK.

noteIn many cases, an error that do not reoccur after a certain amount of time can be safely ignored. Automatically resetting the parameters of the Port Status instances to zero after a few hours is often considered as a good practice.
