Searching WWN

Home  Previous  Next

Every component is uniquely identified on the SAN with an obfuscated series of letters and digits called a WWN: LUNs, storage groups, disks, fiber ports, arrays, servers, etc. Retrieving a device corresponding to a WWN found in an error log or any other administration GUI is a nightmare for SAN administrators. The Search WWN feature has been designed to easily find any component based on its complete or partial World Wide Name.

1.In the console, click the HP EVA icon > KM Commands > Search WWN.
2.Select a search option, Contains, Start with, or Ends with.
3.Type the value to search for.

4.Click Search to display the search results.

KM_Cmd_WWN_Search_Results

5.The search results panel lists the WWN corresponding to the search options defined.
