Prior to install BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management - IBM DS3000 DS4000 DS5000 Series Storage Monitoring, make sure that the following elements are installed and properly configured:

| • | PATROL Console (see BMC PATROL documentation) |
BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management - IBM DS3000 DS4000 DS5000 Series Storage Monitoring relies on IBM System Storage DS Storage Manager to collect hardware and performance metrics about your IBM storage systems and bring them into your BPPM Console. In order to fully take advantage of all the capabilities offered by the monitoring solution, make sure to perform the Installing IBM System Storage DS Storage Manager procedure.
