IBM DS3000, DS4000, DS5000 Series KM for PATROL monitors all of the performance metrics and usage statistics of your IBM environment, such as file disk space usage, storage controller utilization, I/Os on the disks/controllers/volumes, etc. It continuously monitors the activity of each subsystem and is also able to build reports on past utilization statistics.
This chapter provides detailed information on how to configure the SMcli Settings, add a storage subsystem, edit subsystem settings, monitor your IBM storage environment, perform basic administrative tasks, and how to manage thresholds and alert actions with IBM DS3000, DS4000, DS5000 Series KM for PATROL.
