IBM DS3000, DS4000, DS5000 Series KM for PATROL relies on the SMcli utility installed locally to properly monitor the IBM DS Storage Subsystems metrics and performances.

noteSee the IBM DS Storage Manager section in the Installation Guide for further information on the SMcli utility.

To efficiently monitor an IBM storage element, you need to:

1.Configure the SMcli settings
2.Add the subsystem(s) to your monitored environment
