Configuring the SMcli Settings

IBM DS3000, DS4000, DS5000 Series KM for PATROL uses the SMcli utility to gather the information required to monitor the IBM DS Storage Subsystems performances. It is therefore necessary for this utility to be installed on the local server.

The SMcli utility is automatically installed with IBM System Storage DS Storage system that must run on the local server. See IBM System Storage DS Storage Manager for further details on the installation procedure. The PATROL Agent must have sufficient rights to launch the SMcli utility. If this is not the case, you must specify an account that can handle the SMcli utility execution.

1.	Right-click the KM Icon > KM Commands >SMcli Settings

2.	Enter the Path to the SMcli on the local server.

3.	Specify the Username and Password of the account that has sufficient rights to launch the SMcli utility.

4.	Click OK to save your settings.

Leave the username and password blank to use the PATROL Agent default account
