Connectors for HP ProLiant servers running VMware ESX (HP Insight Management Agent WBEM and SMI-S Compliant RAID Controllers.)
Should you install this patch?
Install this patch if:
- The PM automatically selects the HP Insight Management Agent WBEM Linux connectors when monitoring an ESX, but no environmental (fans, power supplies, temperatures or voltages) sensors are found.
- No physical disk information is found when monitoring an HP server running ESX
What does it fix?
- On older HP servers that are not on VMWare's ESX HCL, environmental sensors are not found by the HP agent for ESX, but can be found using ESX's inbuilt hardware monitoring system. This patch detects if sensors are not found by the HP connector and will revert to using the VMWare connector.
- The PM was unable to detect the cimserver process on ESX servers which prevented the SMI-S Compliant RAID Controllers connector from being activated.
