Configuring the KM

Hitachi Disk Arrays KM for PATROL relies on the Hitachi Device Manager installed on one of your server or the embedded SMI-S provider (Hitachi VSP Gxxxx Series systems) to properly monitor the Hitachi disk arrays metrics and performances.

Hitachi Device Manager is a software suite that needs to be installed on a separate server. See the Hitachi Device Manager section in the Installation Guide for further information.

To efficiently monitor a Hitachi storage element, you need to create a connection between the KM and the element you wish to monitor. This chapter deals with the management of connections with the Hitachi Device Manager/embedded SMI-S provider which basically consists in:
