Status Mapping Rules

The status of a component is determined by the State parameter and by the status mapping rule. This mapping rule indicates which states will trigger a warning or an alarm on the Status parameter. The default mapping rules are listed in the tables below. Refer to Configuring Alerts Rules to know how to change these default settings.

Clients Status

The following TSMClientState to TSMClientStatus mapping rule is used by default:

TSMClientState		TSMClientStatus
Never Communicated with Server		Failure
Unknown		Failure
Locked		Suspicious
All other states		OK

Daemons Status

The following TSMDaemonState to TSMDaemonStatus mapping rule is used by default:

TSMDaemonState		TSMDaemonStatus
Nonexistent/Not Responding		Failure
Not Running		Failure
Terminated or Stopped/Disabled		Suspicious
Growing or Unknown		Suspicious
All other states		OK

Drives Status

The following TSMDriveState to TSMDriveStatus mapping rule is used by default:

TSMDriveState		TSMDriveStatus
Unavailable		Failure
Drive Offline or Path Offline		Failure
Reserved for more than 1 hour		Suspicious
Unknown		Suspicious
All other states		OK

Automated Libraries Status

The following TSMLibraryState to TSMLibraryStatus mapping rule is used by default:

Offline or Path Offline		Failure
Unknown		Suspicious
All other states		OK

Automated Library Drives Status

The following TSMLDriveState to TSMLDriveStatus mapping rule is used by default:

Reserved for more than 1 hour		Suspicious

Requests Status

The following TSMRequestState to TSMRequestStatus mapping rule is used by default:

Domains Status

Running for more than 600 minutes		Suspicious

Jobs Status

The following TSMJobtate to TSMJobStatus mapping rule is used by default:

Processes Status

The following TSMProcessState to TSMProcessStatus mapping rule is used by default:
