Install the Component

This chapter explains the procedure to follow for installing, uninstalling and upgrading the Storage Analyzer TSPS Component. It also lists the prerequisites and packages required to operate Storage Analyzer within the TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS) environment.

Install or Upgrade the TSPS Component

Before installing the TSPS Component, make sure that the following requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Version 11.0 or higher of TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS) and TrueSight Infrastructure Management (TSIM).
  • PATROL Agents running Storage Analyzer must be connected to TrueSight Infrastructure Management.
  • The TrueSight Infrastructure Management components must be correctly configured and running in TrueSight Presentation Server to ensure that hardware devices are fully discovered.

Once all the required steps are completed, you can proceed with the installation.

Installation and Upgrade

Warning: If you have already installed a previous version of the Storage Analyzer TSPS Component to benefit from the Web interface capabilities of TSPS with Monitoring Studio, you must uninstall it and reinstall the current version. We strongly recommend to contact support for assistance.

The installation of the TSPS Component is performed on TrueSight Presentation Server (TSPS). You need to download and to copy the installation file in a temporary location on the TSPS server itself (/tmp as in the example below):

  • storage-analyzer-1.9.00-tsps.zip

Open a shell as the tsps user on the TSPS server, and execute the below command in the /opt/bmc/TrueSightPServer/truesightpserver/bin directory:

$ ./tssh componenttype add /tmp/storage-analyzer-1.9.00-tsps.zip

If you are updating the TSPS Component (i.e. it has already been installed on this TSPS server), you need to use the below command:

$ ./tssh componenttype update /tmp/storage-analyzer-1.9.00-tsps.zip

Normally, TSPS will be restarted:
